Initially, I was going to title this blog post "Selling Out" but I was having a difficult time of tying that title into Black History Month. Selling Out has different connotations but has commonly referred to African-Americans that have turned their backs on their principles, race, integrity, etc. for personal gain namely money or perceived prestige.
My version of Selling Out has a positive connotation because I set a goal and was fortunate enough to have people buy a product I put out until the quantity hit zero! I am extremely grateful for that and I am still in disbelief because it takes a lot to have ONE person believe and spend their hard-earned money to purchase something that you developed.
The Ash Wednesday crewneck was a success on many levels. I am still carving my niche but everyday I aim to get better than I was the day before. As a small business owner, you are EVERYTHING.
- Shipping Expert
- Social Media Guru
- And the list goes on...
This crewneck represented a persistence that I never knew was possible. It is hard to walk that fine line of sending one email or promo too many. However, my aim is always to reach that ONE person and give them an experience that is worth coming back for. I appreciate everyone that played a part in giving me the experience of "Selling Out".
Thank you for rocking with me and I hope that Black History Month brings forth the opportunity to learn something new.
Thanks for keeping it Trü 💯
